I am a certified doula and it has been my great privilege to work in the birthing community, both as a lay person and as a professional, for the last eighteen years. I have had the opportunity to be a birth assistant to one of our midwives in the area, where I have gained much experience including working with VBAC births. I am also available to help with any nursing questions or problems that arise during the postpartum period. I have eight children. Four of them were born in the hospital, one was in the hospital with a doula, and three of them have been born at home with a midwife. My husband is an international pilot and I have loved being able to get back into my doula work as my children have gotten older now. Having the continual care from a doula, from the onset of labor until sometime postpartum is the biggest way that I have seen moms being blessed by having a birth doula. I have found each family and each birth to be unique and it would be my great privilege to assist you in your birth.

Rather late in life I discovered my calling. A friend mentioned that I should become a midwife. I immediately felt this just might be my purpose in life. After investigation and prayer I pursued this avenue. I started my education and training in September of 1988. As of Dec. 2009 I've attended 1125 ladies in childbirth. It truly has been the most rewarding and challenging decision of my life. After several years of practicing I learned that I am a 5th and 6th generation midwife on both sides of my family. Confirmation again. I continue to learn with each birth and still see the miracle in God's design of childbirth. The Lord gave me the name Fruitful Vine ministries which comes from Psalm 128: 3, Your wife shall be a Fruitful vine In the very heart of you house. I am blessed to assist your family in the heart of your homes while being fruitful and multiplying.
