Internship Training for Birth Assistants, Doulas, and Midwives
“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” Luke 12:48
The process to becoming a midwife is a challenging and exciting one. Our desire is to be an encouragement to those who are trying to figure it out as well as to offer hands on training to those who are ready to obtain their skills. To that end we have established a process to select candidates who are ready to become a midwife or doula. These apprenticeships/internships are non paid positions which require a tremendous amount of flexibility and commitment.
The training is divided into four phases which mirrors the NARM certification process. Some applicants will follow it through to completion and be able to sit for the NARM skills and written exam which if passed will result in becoming CPM (Certified Professional Midwife). Others will only want to do some of the first phases on their way to becoming a doula and still others will do one phase and find that this path is not for their life or their family's life. It is our prayer that we can assist you in finding your precise calling in ministry to birthing families. The first step is to do your own research, but the second step is to fill out an application! PLEASE THOROUGHLY READ through all the documents and if there are still questions please email us. Please knowwe will not answer questions that are addressed in the following links. .
“Good beginnings make a positive difference in the world, so it is worth our while to provide the best possible care for mothers and babies throughout this extraordinarily influential part of life.” -Ina May Gaskin
