Jessica has three energetic children and is married to her husband of ten years. She became involved in the Wichita birth community after a negative experience during her first pregnancy. She was uneducated and under supported which led to her making poor decisions and ultimately ended with an early induction and C-section. Jessica believes that families are the ultimate decision makers when it comes to their health and should make educated and instinctive choices that are right for them. Prenatal education and informed consent are of the utmost importance to her.
Jessica is a Midwife, Certified Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Evidence Based Birth® Instructor. She is the President of the Wichita Birth Alliance, an organization that educates and advocates for a woman's right to a safe and satisfying birth and aids in the expansion of birth options in Wichita. She has volunteered for organizations such as International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN), Improvingbirth.org, and BirthNetwork. Jessica is dedicated to providing evidence based information and care to her clients as well as providing educational seminars for birth professionals. She is honored to be able to support families in whatever birth setting they desire, from the most natural homebirths to planned high-risk cesarean sections. She is continually amazed at what women can do when they are educated and supported.
