Cynthia is a wife, mother, and Certified Birth Doula, and Certified Professional Midwife. She has eight children ranging in ages from 20-39 and has had both hospital and home births with them. She has been married to her international airline pilot husband for forty years and enjoys traveling with him when her schedule allows.. They have six married children and 10 grandchildren. .
Cynthia's desire is to encourage women to understand the choices they have in birth and to assist them in planning for the birth they want, whether it be in the hospital or in a home setting. In 2010, Wichita Birth Assistance was born out of a vision that Cynthia had to grow the birthing community of Wichita by providing both education as well as access. It is also her desire to be proactive in strengthening relationships between families, doulas, and midwives, as well as doctors, nurses, and even hospital administrations. We have a long way to go but we have made great strides. . It has been her great privilege to work in the birthing community for the last twenty-five years, both as a doula and a midwife. Cynthia stresses the importance of having continuity of care by encouraging moms to choose a doula or a midwife to be part of their birth team. She is humbled by the opportunities she has had to serve families at such monumental times in their lives and by the opportunities she has had to learn more of God's provisions and faithfulness. She has found each mom, each family, and each birth to be unique and would count it her great privilege to assist you with midwifery or doula services.
